The project explores how family memory intertwines with the political history of a country. Taking as a starting point Colombia’s first international loan and the inherited stories about my ancestors, the work confronts the idealization of lineages with their fissures and contradictions. Drawings of documents and coats of arms become metaphors of a multiple inheritance—material, symbolic, and affective—where what is passed down is not always a gift, but sometimes an impossible debt to repay.
